How is the Canada Child Benefit calculated?

Start with $8,157 for each child under 6 and $6,883 for each child aged 6 to 17. Above $38,237 of adjusted family net income, the total is reduced by 7% (one child), 13.5% (two), 19% (three) or 23% (four or more) of income over that amount. Above $82,847 the reduction is a fixed amount plus 3.2% to 9.5% of the excess.

What income is used for the CCB?

Your adjusted family net income from the previous year: your net income (line 23600) plus your spouse's. Payments from July 2026 to June 2027 are based on 2025 income.

Is the CCB taxable?

No. The Canada Child Benefit is tax-free and doesn't need to be reported as income.
