Frequently asked questions

When is the next CPP payment?

The remaining 2026 CPP payment dates are October 28, November 26 and December 22. CPP is paid once a month, usually in the last three business days of the month.

Are CPP and OAS paid on the same day?

Yes. Service Canada pays the Canada Pension Plan and Old Age Security on the same date each month, along with the Guaranteed Income Supplement.

Why is the December CPP payment early?

December payments are made before the holidays, so the December 2026 payment arrives on December 22.

What is the maximum CPP payment in 2026?

$1,507.65 a month for a new retirement pension starting at age 65 in January 2026. The average new pension at 65 was $858.34 a month in July 2026. Most people get less than the maximum, because it requires maximum contributions for about 39 years.

What should I do if my CPP payment is late?

Allow a few business days for the deposit to appear, especially if your bank is closed for a holiday. If it still hasn't arrived, contact Service Canada. Direct deposit is the fastest and most reliable way to be paid.
